The distance from Udupi to Kapu Beach is approximately 18.8 km (around a 20–25 minute drive via National Highway 66). 

Auto-rickshaws, Bike Rentals and taxis are readily available throughout Udupi for a direct drop to the beach.

Best Things to Do at Kaup Beach & Light House

Climb the Historic Kaup Lighthouse:

Highlights: Standing 27 meters tall on a rocky cliff, ascending the spiral staircase rewards you with a 360-degree panoramic view of the Arabian Sea and surrounding coastline.

Timing: Open daily for visitors from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
Entry Fee: Just ₹10 per person) for Indian citizens. And ₹100 for Foreign Nationals.
Camera Fee:  ₹20 If you carry a Camera.

Water Sports & Activities:

Season: Available mostly between September and May when sea conditions are calm.
Activities: Enjoy jet skiing, banana boat rides, and speed boating along the coast.
Kites:  You can buy Kites at the entrance and enjoy your time.

Panoramic Views from the Lighthouse:

If you time your visit between 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM, you can climb to the top of the lighthouse and watch the sun sink into the vast Arabian Sea from 27 meters above the shoreline.

Best Time to Catch It

Timing: Plan to arrive by 5:15 PM – 5:30 PM to secure a good spot along the boulders or shoreline before the sun dips around 6:15 PM – 6:30 PM.
